TERMS & CONDITIONS

Welcome to LegUp! By engaging with our platform, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Scope of Service

LegUp acts as a facilitator connecting clients with pre-screened caregivers (nannies).

Caregivers are responsible for duties such as:

  • Baby massage, feeding, bathing
  • Diaper changes, sleep routines
  • Baby laundry and related tasks

Any household work beyond childcare is voluntary and not mandatory.

2. Booking Fee

  • A non-refundable booking fee is applicable for all plans.
  • Exception: If no caregiver profiles were shared, a full refund (including booking fee) will be processed.

3. Replacement & Refund Policy

✅ When Replacement is Requested:

  • Clients can request unlimited replacements during their active plan.
  • If a suitable replacement is not provided within 3 working days, a pro-rata refund of the subscription fee will be issued.

✅ When Client Cancels:

  • Before caregiver joining: Booking fee will be deducted, the rest refunded.
  • After caregiver joins: Refund will be issued pro-rata for unused days, excluding booking fee.
  • Without opting for replacement: A 50% deduction on the subscription fee will apply.

❌ When Refund is Not Applicable:

  • Caregiver leaves after completing a full service period (30/90/180 days depending on plan).
  • Caregiver rest hours or leave entitlements are disputed.
  • Unsafe or disrespectful conditions reported at client premises.
  • Service is terminated due to a client's breach.
  • Client cancels for personal reasons (relocation, local hiring, family emergency, change in care needs, etc.): 50% cancellation charge applies.

🚫 Contract Not Received?

If the client did not receive a written contract, a full refund will be provided without questions.

4. Caregiver No-Show Policy

If the caregiver does not arrive on Day 1, the client can request a full refund of the subscription fee, or ask for a replacement caregiver.

5. Salary Payments

  • Salary to the caregiver must be paid directly by the client, unless the caregiver discontinues mid-service.
  • In such cases, salary dues must be paid to LegUp, not the nanny.
  • Pro-rata salary to be calculated based on a 30-day month.

6. Plan Upgrades

Clients may upgrade to a higher plan within the first 30/90 days by paying the difference amount.

7. Client Obligations

  • Provide 8 hours of rest, 3 meals/day, and safe accommodation for live-in caregivers.
  • Allow agreed weekly offs and leaves.
  • Refrain from giving tasks outside the job description.
  • Do not hire the caregiver independently during or for 6 months after the engagement.
  • Report issues to LegUp immediately.

8. Liability Disclaimer

  • LegUp is not liable for theft, financial loss, damage, or misconduct by the caregiver.
  • Clients agree to indemnify LegUp against legal claims arising from caregiver behavior.
  • LegUp will assist in dispute resolution but is not financially responsible.

9. Dispute Resolution

Jurisdiction: Bangalore, Karnataka.

Unresolved disputes will be addressed through Arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.

10. Acknowledgment

By continuing to use our services, you agree to all terms listed herein. A written service contract will be shared via email after payment and is legally binding once acknowledged by default after 3 days.
